Hotglue is a visual tool for creating websites in your web browser. It can be used to make a personal website, a website for a YouTube channel, an online portfolio or anything! Their aim is to make it an interesting alternative to other somewhat complicated website making sites such as Wordpress.

Whilst also being able to add code when creating a website with Hotglue, it's primary goal is to avoid that and make it as simple as possible.
The way you create your site in Hotglue is by simply uploading images, videos, text and audio and dragging them around the page, scaling and rotating until it is how you want it. It is as simple as making the design layout for a website in Photoshop. Whenever you make a change, your website is instantly saved on the Hotglue servers, so you don't have to worry about not saving any changes you have made.

I admit it is a well made idea and the concept is pretty amazing for a small organisation to be able to make a website for themselves, for free in such an easy way. It is however rather tricky to get used to. There are some flaws that lie around in it. For example, I've experienced things not saving and then an old revision of the website is displayed instead of the newest one. You also have to be careful as to which browser you use to edit in. As expected IE doesn't work with it, Chrome has some issues but works and Firefox, being the browser they recommend, works the best. That being said, I am typing this in Chrome and I haven't had any issues yet.

We had to make a website to get ourselves used to Hotglue and the way it works. Our goal was to create the most horrific looking website ever using cats, unicorns and anything else that graces the modern internet. I chose to do mine slightly based off memes with the use of the infamous Comic Sans. Lets just say that the website that you are viewing now is one that should never be replaced by such atrocities.
